The White House says the State of the Union is set for Jan. 27, which is important for two reasons: firstly, nobody has to miss the premiere of Lost, and second, we'll find out more about how the Obama administration expects to address the nation's fiscal problems. President Obama has said he plans to make fiscal responsibility a priority in the speech, with his formal budget proposal due on Feb. 1. This will be the first opportunity to ask the six questions the Fiscal Future report suggests should be applied to any budget. So have your checklist handy, and there's still time to get up to speed on the challenge.
